thoughts on a bf3 uk server

I've been speaking to brewin and I think this going to go ahead I'm planning to help pay for the server brewing is going to pay for a 3 month trial with me and panda as admins + plus main admins to run it, we are hopefully going to vote for maps and games shortly.
what do you guys think? sorry brewing hope I'm not stepping on your toes, but I think this would a great thing for us as clan. 3 servers would be awesome

as i said before i am extremely happy with the idea and happy to pitch in. i am always online on bf3 and the American server always lags for me and i know a few other members from Europe say the American server lags for us Brits. i would be happy to help host as this would not only improve my game play but also help promote a bf euro team for 4gc which in the end would be a major advantage as we can enter events this side as well as the American side. therefore giving us more chances to further our goals. Also this will help with training as the euro team can challenge the american teams and improve each others mistakes if they are noticed, or on the other hand if it is me i will just get creamed completely .

What are the running costs? I would imagine I would play on it a lot now being a UK BF player so it would only be fair if I were to chip in.

As an EU BF3 player I would like to pay for a month.

As a 4GC admin - the small print:
4GC can not be in anyway responsible if this all goes wrong.
Consider our recent departees who had a server, if you had had a stake in it how would you feel being banned from it after the falling out. No-one expected the falling out only a short time ago.
You should consider any money you chip in as potntially lose'able, like a bet at the casino.
If you advertise the clan on the servr, like Brock does, that is great for us, it has bought in a couple of members but then we ask that you apply sensible rules as our name is mentioned i.e. don't kick people just because they are beating us.
Agree the general usage of the server, this was a huge issue on Thumpers server. He really only played Conquest, they liked to spawn trap. Others weren't happy about this. Those paying for the server have the last say on what it is being used for, other members have to accept it and not complain....but if you do own it and others complain please don't retaliate.

Think thats it ... oh, and general internet security - do not share personal details with each other like bank account details, you really don't know who is on the other end of that voice!

Maybe a stupid question but is it necessary? I mean if I play on the US servers I don't have a problem with lagging or rubber banding ? Maybe some others do?
Edit...srry didn't read the above well enough..lagging is an issue for the Uk.

Won’t this spread the 4GC BF3 players more? I like playing with the US and EU guys but won’t they split up in this case? It's not like we have 100 gamers online on BF3.

Just some thoughts….

PS. I'm also putting away MW3 for a short while and focus more on BF.

We should see an increase in members as 1/ people get sick of MW3 and 2/ I am pushing recruitmnt again as the GoB issues are behind us.

This should not be seen as separating North American gamers from European or dividing the platoon. It should be seen as complimenting the servers that we already have and adding strength in depth that probably no other clan has.

It also allows us another private area to practice and carryout KOTH contests and maybe a vehicle from which to recruit more European players.


If I/we feel it is dividing the platoon or causing problems for the Clan we simply do not renew. (Be assured this is not another GoB).

I have set up the server for 90 days which will give us time to assess whether there is a need and whether it causes problems. I have given Me, mandy, Pandaa and Cong admin rights to the server for now. If you search for 4GC EU/UK SERVER you will find it.

Fantastic I can do a PayPal transfer how much do you need? We splitting it 3 way? Think brewin you should have the last say. We have a team death match, rush, Is this going to be our conquest server

I will talk to you and pandaa off post re contribution - in light of Mandy's comments may be better if it was towards the end rather than up front, that way people know they got what they bargained for.

Do not mind on set up - at the moment I think its set to a rush, conquest mix but we can mix it up also have the options for all infantry (no vehicles etc). I think as with Brocks its about finding a formular that atrracts others initially.

PS cong pandaa let me know if your admin rights are working (does it show in the menus you have a server or what?)
