BF3 does not make it easy for us to get in a game on the same squad with each other. Many times you end up with at least one person on the other team. Hopefully this will be fixed over the next few weeks but until then I am going to offer some hints on what I have learned so far to help us get in more games together on the same squad. Please feeFirl free to add any tips or tricks that you have picked up.
First of all you need to gather your squad at the main multiplayer menu. You can only have a squad of four including you. From that point you can enter a match one of two ways. You can go to Quick match, select you the type of match you want, and then select find match. You can go to server browser and select the exact game type and map that you want. One warning when you are joining a match this way.... Be careful not to enter a match that doesn't have very many players as this makes for a very boring game.
This is where things get interesting..........
On the loading screen you have the option to select whether or not you want to be put into a squad. Always select no. When you get into the game go to the squad/team menu. Once in this menu hit select and bring up the team listings in order to make sure that everyone is on the same team (More than likely there will be at least one person on the other team. More on how to handle this situation in a moment.). If everyone selected that they did not want to be put into a squad then you should all be able to hear each other and decide which squad you want to join. You need to select one that has enough room to accomadate all of the players you have with you.
If you get in game and one of the players end up on the other team..........
The players on the team with the majority of the squad should stay put and get find a squad. The player that ends up on the other team should first try switching teams in the squad/teams menu. If this does not work than this player should leave that game find the players that they want to play with at the friends screen in the main menu and then select join. Usually this wil put you into the game on team that you originally wanted to be on.
Once you get in a game on the same team and squad it is smooth sailing. The game actually does a good job of keeping the squad together from one game to the next. The big key is communication amongst you and the people you are wanting to play with. Make sure that eveyone knows that once you get into a game if everyone is split up that at least one person should stay put so that everyone else can join on that person.
Hopefully this will help everyone out and lead to more time playing and less time in between games.
