Being able to tell how the soilder next to you is feeling just by looking at the expression on his face is something that stuck with me since the first time i noticed it. BattleField 3 is with out a doubt the most realistic war shooter ever made. The graphic's, the atmosphere, the player movements, and even the dialog is all spot on.

First off the only other game i can think of that would even compare to battlefield 3 in graphic's is the orginal Crysis on pc. Falling tree's , crumbleing buildings, the sahke of the ground as a tank rolls past you, and the dust it kick's off are all thing's of beauty. I found my self a few times in awe of my surrounding's and while your in the middle of a war that is very hazardis to your health.

However there lies my biggest issue with the game. It is very hard to spot the enemy. Your getting shot and have no idea where its coming from. Thankfully Dice has made it so your primary targets are marked with an orange box or triangle. Though its the common solider that always seems to kill you from behind a tree or around a corner. One thing i did notice is that enemy AI is fairly smart, aiming their gun around a corner and blind firing instead of pokeing their heads out. As well as activly trying to flank you. There were times were i would be standing right next to an enemy and they wouldn't notice but that did not happen very offten.

Quick time events are another issue i had with the game. It may work in a game such as God of War but dosen't translate well at all to an FPS. I want to be in the action not pressing a button and watching a cut scene, pressing another button watching another cut scene, and so on. Key point's in the game use Quick time event's and it completly turnd you off to whats happening. The final fight of the game takes place with a Quick time event and in an FPS that is completly unacceptable in my opinoin.

Overall the story is presented to you in a way we have all seen before in flashback's. The two interagator's were not very convincing and did not provide anything outside of just pushing the story forward. with out spoiling any of the story you would think that the two interagators questioning you would of had more secruity around. The plot is also one we have seen before. Bad guy has a bomb and you need to stop him no matter what. It's safe to say that the plot is no where near a strong point for the game. However when a game looks and simulate's war this well you just want to take to land , sea, and air to experince what is the closest thing to actual warefare without joining the real life ranks of the military.

Nice review dub. I've only played about an hour into the Campaign and so far I agree with what your saying.
