So these are the criterias that determine your skill level:

• You gain/loose SL based on every confrontation with another player
• Killing a highly skilled enemy gives you more points than killing someone less skilled
• Points are not transferred from a player to another, they are simply added/subtracted based on the encounter and the SL of both parts (thus, after an encounter, one part may go up 50 points while the other loses only 20)
• The SL is used for matchmaking

Still seems like a shit stat to have. So if I'm in a game full of privates (down Zuip) then my skill will go down because I pwned them and they were below me!!! Makes a ton of sense to me DICE!

I have a minus skill level in both BF2 & BF3. I need to get some more practise in that game to bring up my K/D, skill and everything. Much like MW3, my stats always taking a beating in the beginning.

I would assume your SL would only go down if a player of a lower SL killed you, not if you were running around killing them. LOL, if that is the way it works thats insane.
