CALL OF DUTY: BLACK OPS 3 IS MAKING THESE CHANGES THANKS TO THE BETA

AUTHOR: WILLIAM USHER
Thanks to the beta these changes to BO3 91477

Activision and Treyarch have taken in a number of feedback from gamers about the beta they recently conducted for Call of Duty: Black Ops 3. The beta provided Treyarch with enough data to actively make some significant changes to the final game.

Videogamer.com did a rundown of all the changes that are coming to Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 for the game's release this November.

They've made changes to the weapons such as the Razorback and M8A7 for better balancing across the board, along with a few other guns.

They've also increased the amount of data feedback that players get after being killed. You now get to find out what Scorestreaks were active, what sort of Specialist Weapons were being used, what equipment the player had on and what sort of weapons they were using, in addition to knowing what perks they had equipped. It's very detailed info now when you get killed, as opposed to just seeing the Killcam and wondering how that guy jumped off a building and 360-no-scoped you while dolphin diving.

One of the things I thought was interesting in the changes is that Treyarch has decided to modify the Concussion grenades and Flashbangs. Players complained about them being way too powerful during the rounds and Treyarch decided to reduce the effectiveness of the Concussion grenades and reduce the stun time from the Flashbangs. That's one of the first times I've heard of people complaining about Flashbangs given that most times people throw them randomly in the direction of the opposing team and then rush in for the kill, using it more as a supplementary distraction as a opposed to a thoroughly useful tactical device.

Another interesting change was that players complained about the trajectory of the grenades when moving backwards or downward. Treyarch made some slight tweaks to this so that grenades didn't abruptly stop short when moving backward or downward. I can imagine how that can really throw off some players as they setup a grenade toss and then it completely lands in a place they didn't intend for it to land.

Another big change was with the flinch. Now I've always felt that player hit reactions were never reactive enough in competitive games. Most times player-characters just tank the hits until they die, it's like a bullet sponge who just tips over. Treyarch did attempt to add a flinch in Call of Duty: Black Ops 3's first person mode so that when players get hit their character does react – or rather, flinches. However, the netcode would begin to stack the flinch reactions per every hit, so the gun was moving out of the way, way too much. They decided to remove the stack on the flinching so now players no longer over-flinch, nor do they under-flinch, they now flinch just right.

The team also added kill counters to getting in the Rejack and they've scaled back the damage of some of the Black Hat equipment, including giving players who are being hacked more notification of being hacked.

A lot of these changes are being implemented for Call of Duty: Black Ops 3's release on November 6th next month for the Xbox OnePS4Xbox 360, PS3 and PC.
