According to what I've read, it can do. Another option is to put your PS3 into a De-Militarised Zone (DMZ) so the router won't block any internet traffic.

stooopid PSN ... I've tried the router DMZ thing, disconnected from the media server, changed to a different PSN account and all to no avail .. still couldn't join Lady last night, or her join me. We live 50 miles away from each other but have to rope a US citizen in to bring us both together.

my black ops was at moderate then i put my mw2 disc in my ps3 and my nat was open on mw2, so i went back on black ops and my nat was open there as well, so i can now join game's without it saying server full or game no longer active, hope it works for whoever try's it.

hmm, i'll have a look at that .. most annoying is that when we get someone else to host the party who can bring us together we can't hear each other on the headsets when in pre-game lobby .. so, so annoying.
