Clan Match - 4GC vs. Over30Clan (Thursday Oct 20 @ 10 pm EST)

Hey 4GC!

It's time to start gathering players for this Thursday's match against the Over30Clan. Last week we ended up playing in two lobbies. We had a 4v4 and a 5v5 going. Over30 ended up having 9 players so we matched by inviting another to join. As I mentioned last week I would like to be ready for this match so I am building a team of 8 members. If Over30 comes with more then we'll send out and invite to fill the hole.

The game format for this match will be the same as last week. You'll use your own classes modified to exclude underbarrel attachments (noob tubes, flamethrower, masterkey), second chance and decoys. We'll play the best a best of 5 game series (first one to win 3 games).

FYI: Last weeks results

Hey 4GC! I have sad new We lost against Over30 last night in a very close match up. We played the best of 5, so the first to win 3 games. Here are the details ( don't remember all of the actual scores but they are all relatively close to what is stated)

Game #1 - 4GC wins Dom on Jungle 200-185
Game #2 - Over30 wins Dom on Summit 200-185
Game #3 - 4GC wins Dom on Havana 200-185
Game #4 - Over30 win TDM on Firing Range 7500-6500
Game #5 - Over30 wins TDM on WMD 7500-7200

Over30 chose the map and game mode for games 1,3,5 and 4GC chose the others.
It was a good game. I think we all suffered from some lag issues but overall, I think the competition was pretty equal. Given the opportunity to replay this match using a different host, I have faith that we would have pulled off the win. Oh well....current record against Over30 is 5-3 for 4GC. The next match up is scheduled for next Thursday, Oct 27th @ 10 pm EST. Early next week I'll redo this thread and start collecting members to fill next weeks roster.

Hey gang, I wanted to apologize for not bringing the team together last night to work on some different game modes. When I first logged on there was 4 of us and I should have mentioned something at that point but we had a good lobby going and I didn't want to disban it. With only 4 people it would be hard to compete and practice together without having a full team.

Thumper has agreed to try and pull you all together tonight in my absence as I won't be online tonight. If the same situation arises and there are only a couple of people online then don't feel obligated. Playing short is like playing cards without a full deck. It just doesn't work right.

If this pre-training on other game modes doesn't work out this week, we'll have several weeks to work on some stuff. No worries!

We are still looking for one more person to complete the roster. I'm sure it won't be an issue to fill the spot on game night if no one else wants to reserve it.

I personally dont mind playing different game types... however...

If were not playing DOM or TDM, I think we should stick with CTF or even S&D.

Demolition is way to easy to be spawn trapped, even easier than DOM and for this reason alone I think it could get very bad and end up in people rage quitting.

I basically dont know anything about Headquarters however if there is enough interest I suppose I would play this game type as well.

Just my 2 cents.

Hey Gents i have just been informed that i am mandated to work a 16 hours today so i cant make the match tonight...... so good hunting !!!! hope i i gave enough time to find a replacement..

Thanks for the heads up. I don't think it will be an issue find a replacement. There are always guys on PSN to fill in the empty spot.

Shady..... those of us that were on last night played a few games of tdm and dom so we didn't really work on any different game types but we did have a lot of good discussion about general game strategy and tactics I personally found it very useful

Ya. It was good. Then we beat the crap out of the other team on TDM!!! That was funnnnnn! Sticky dart to the head FTW!

to piggy back on Thump and Crew's posts....it was extremely helpful I believe....4gc even went 64-10, 59-11 in our last 2 matches...ridciulous #'s like that. (think both #'s are right)

It got out of hand quick with thump sticky darting everyone and crew raining down choppers like it was his job.

It was an impressive night to say the least.

One map, their highest killer was 9. The other was 7. We were shocked when then finally popped a spy plane! Too much fun!!!!

The sad thing about JZ's numbers is half those deaths were mine. DAMN YOU STICKY DARTS!!!

Another sad thing, I waited til my 11th prestige to use and fall in love with the sticky dart! Don't just sneak up and knife a guy...put a sticky dart up his ass!
